Alimentation Couche-Tard, the parent company of Circle K convenience stores, has named James Kelly as its new global director of procurement operations. Kelly brings over 20 years of experience in purchasing and supply chain management across various industries to the role.
Kelly’s previous experience includes leadership positions at Cushman & Wakefield, Aramark, Bidvest Noonan, Netshare Ireland, and Hospital Procurement Services Group. His expertise includes sourcing strategies, contract negotiation, and risk mitigation measures.
Kelly’s appointment comes as Couche-Tard focuses on enhancing its procurement functions. The company recently launched a Supplier Code of Conduct to promote environmentally and socially responsible practices. Additionally, Couche-Tard has implemented AI-powered technology to improve demand forecasting and replenishment in its stores.
During a recent earnings call, CFO Filipe Da Silva highlighted the success of Couche-Tard’s goods-for-resale program in the US and its expansion to Canada and Europe. The company is also seeing positive savings on the goods-not-for-resale side of the business and is establishing a central team for that division.
